The City of London, University (CUL), is a public research university in London, the United Kingdom and a member institution of the Federal University of London. It was established by Northampton College in 1894 and became a university when the city university was founded for the Royal Charter in 1966. The law court school hotel, which merged with the city in 2001, was established in 1852, making it the oldest part of the university. City University joined the Federal University of London on September 1, 2016 and became part of the eighteen colleges and ten research institutions that made up the university at that time.
The City has strong ties to the City of London and the Mayor of London as the principal. The university is located in the London Borough of Islington in the central part of London with its main campus, in the west and east of Islington, the city, additional campuses. The institution’s annual revenue for 2019-20 was 245 million pounds, of which 11.1 million pounds came from research grants and contracts, and expenditures were 218.4 million pounds. It is organized into five schools, of which there are about forty academic departments and centers, including journalism, business schools, and urban law schools, including court law schools.

The university is a member of MBA, EQUIS and the Association of British Universities.
