San Jose State University (San Jose State University or SJSU) is a public university located in San Jose, California. SJSU is the oldest public university in the West Coast and founding campus California State University (CSU) system.
Located in downtown San Jose, the main SJSU campus is located on 154 acres (62 hectares), or roughly 19 square blocks. SJSU offers 145 bachelor's and master's degrees, including 108 concentration courses, and 5 certificate courses, including 19 concentration courses. As of the fall of 2019, the university also offers four doctoral degrees. SJSU is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
SJSU's total enrollment in the fall of 2019 was 33,282, including more than 5,400 graduate students and certificated students. The number of students at Missouri State University is one of the highest in the nation. As of the fall of 2019, SJSU's postgraduate enrollment rate, Asian and international student enrollment rate are the highest among all campuses in the CSU system.
SJSU has always been listed as one of the leading suppliers of undergraduate and graduate alumni of Silicon Valley technology companies. SJSU's charitable support is the highest in the CSU system.
The SJSU sports team is called Spartans and participates in the NCAA Division I FBS Mountain West conference.
