Concordia University (French: Université Concordia); commonly known as Concordia is a public comprehensive research university located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Concordia University (Loyola College) and Sir George Williams University were established in 1974 after the merger. It is one of the three universities in Quebec. English is the main language of instruction (the other are the languages of McGill and Bishop). As of the 2018-19 academic year, there are 46,829 students enrolled in credit courses at Concordia, ranking first among Canadian universities in terms of enrollment. The university has two campuses, about 7 kilometers (4 miles) apart: Sir George Williams campus is the main campus, located in downtown Montreal, known as Quartier Concordia; and the Loyola campus in the residential area of Notre Dame de Paris. Concordia University has four colleges, a graduate school and numerous colleges, centers and research institutes, offering more than 400 undergraduate courses and 200 graduate courses and courses.
The University’s John Molson School of Business has consistently ranked among the top 10 business schools in Canada and the top 100 in the world. In addition, Concordia ranks seventh in Canada in the professional classification of international higher education institutions and 229th among world universities. This is a global ranking compiled by the Paris University of Mining. The only criterion is the wealth of graduates occupying the ranking. The position of CEO of a Fortune 500 company.
Concordia is a non-denominational and coeducational institution with more than 220,000 alumni worldwide. The university is a member of the Canadian Association of University Colleges, International University Association, Canadian Research Library Association, Canadian Intercollegiate Debating Association, Canadian International Education Bureau, and Canadian University Press. The university's varsity team, known as Stinger, competes in the U sports of the Quebec Student Sports Federation.
